Mindful Walking is a fantastic part of mindfulness and meditation that you can incorporate easily your daily life. Just imagine in your mind, when you are walking, you are describing everything to a friend. Use your senses. What can you see, hear, touch, smell and taste. Just say it silently to yourself. Your mind will be focused in the present, not thinking of the past or worrying about the future. You are just enjoying the moment. If your mind wanders, as it will (we have 60,000 thoughts per day, one every 1.2 seconds, many of them negative ones), bring your mind back to your senses and what you are experiencing in the moment during your walk. With practice you will get better and your mind will wander less. Your concentration will improve and you will be more aware, awake, clearer in your thinking and less stressed. Try it. Keep it up; make it a habit, a routine. You won’t regret it.
